Paris – Great Works of European Art

“He who contemplates the depths of Paris is seized with vertigo. Nothing is more fantastic. Nothing is more tragic. Nothing is more sublime.” (Victor Hugo). Paris inspired the greatest artists. Picasso, Braque, Chagall, Sartre and Camus, Simone de Beauvoir, Van Gogh, Dali, Monet and Renoir. It is home to the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay, to Notre Dame Cathedral, the Eiffel Tower. It is known for its fashion and its good food. But Paris is not just about the senses. The Paris Region hosts the world headquarters of 29 of the 31 French companies listed in the Fortune Global 500. We will visit the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the International Chamber of Commerce.

Legal Program on Friday

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)
The mission of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is to promote policies that will improve the economic and social well-being of people around the world. The OECD provides a forum in which governments can work together to share experiences and seek solutions to common problems. We work with governments to understand what drives economic, social and environmental change. We measure productivity and global flows of trade and investment. We analyze and compare data to predict future trends. We set international standards on a wide range of things, from agriculture and tax to the safety of chemicals.

International Chamber of Commerce
ICC provides a forum for businesses and other organizations to examine and better comprehend the nature and significance of the major shifts taking place in the world economy. ICC offers an influential and respected channel for supplying business leadership to help governments manage those shifts in a collaborative manner for the benefit of the world economy as a whole.

While policy advocacy is a major part of ICC’s work, everything else it does is also devoted to promoting international trade and investment. Indeed, much of its work is of a very practical nature, focussed on making it easier for business to operate internationally.
